Camden Hills II

Trip Description

The Camden Hills base camping trips offer another opportunity to experience a more relaxed AESOP in the Camden area of coastal Maine. These trips will camp out of a vehicle-accessible campsite and spend each day day-hiking (popular hikes include Bald Rock Mtn and the “Nature Trail”), chilling out at the beach, exploring local streams and rivers, and hanging out in downdown Camden.

Camden Hills I&II, like other base camping trips, are designed to require minimal outdoor experience, and are best suited for those who are excited about AESOP but would prefer a less intense outdoor experience. While the participants all sleep in tents, the campsites feature running water and shower facilities.

*Camden Hills I & II share the same itinerary, but are run in opposite directions.

Rachel Neckes

Congratulations on making the best decision of your life and joining AESOP 2013!!! My name is Rachel Neckes and I’m a sophomore from the infamous JOB (just outside of Boston). When I’m not aimlessly dancing around the streets, I enjoy snugglin’ with my friends, listening to ‘90s hip hop (and would also do absolutely anything to meet the kings of rap: Jay Z and Kanye), snacking hard, and taking/teaching Zumba classes. I’m a philosophy major and a rhetoric minor, love being involved in the Lewiston public schools, and enjoy spending every summer basking in the Maine sun at summer camp. If you’re looking for a chill, coastal camping trip with two studly batesies, come on Camden Hills II!!

Emile Kaldany

First and foremost, congrats on coming to Bates!! Secondly, congrats on choosing to do an Aesop! My name is Emile Kaldany (pronounced Uh, Meal or A meal) not Emily, though feel free to call me Emily since I will respond. I’m from Bethesda, Maryland, which is just outside of DC and am a sophomore… at bates (just incase you were confused).  In my spare time I prefer to travel; I’ve lived in India for two years, where I was once arrested for my good looks, and have traveled to 52 countries. I also love the outdoors and love to climb, bike, camp and just have fun. Basically what I am saying is if you want to have a ridiculously awesome, jaw droppingly chill start to your freshman year, come join Rachel and me on Camden Hills DOS!
