Students Entering Fall 2012

The Registrar’s Office joins others in welcoming you to Bates. We are here to assist you in registering for courses and preparing for fall semester.

Bates students enjoy 24-hour online access to their records through a secure Bates web site called the Garnet Gateway. This summer you will use the Garnet Gateway to register for your fall courses. There are three steps to registration as detailed in the schedule below:

Registration Schedule

Registration Step I – July 16 at 12:00 pm (noon EDT) – July 20 until (noon EDT)
Registration Step I: Enter Your Courses
(Register any time during this period for 3 courses and a FYS)

Registration Step II – July 21-23
Registration closes on the 20th at noon, we’ll then run a process on any limited courses that were oversubscribed in Phase I. For each course, the process fills the course by randomly selecting students from the list of all those who indicated a preference for that course in Phase I, up to the limit of the course.

Registration Step III – July 23 12:00 pm (noon EDT) – July 27
Registration Phase II: Add/Drop
Registration re-opens and students check their schedule. Students add and drop courses on first come, first serve basis during this phase.
