Michael Martinez

Associate Dean of Admissions, Assistant Dean for Student Transition & Interim Co-Director, Office of Intercultural Education

Michael Martinez currently serves as Interim Co-Director of the Office of Intercultural Education and Assistant Dean of Students. As a Dean, Martinez provides informal academic and personal advising to all students, with a focus on sophomores, juniors and seniors from underrepresented backgrounds or those who are the first in their families to attend college. He also enjoys talking with students about their plans after college. As Interim Co-Director of the Office of Intercultural Education, Martinez helps to support campus-wide programs and initiatives that address topics of difference, power and privilege. Find Dean Martinez in Room 204 of the Office of Intercultural Education – the blue house at 63 Campus Ave. across from Chase Hall. Dean Martinez has been at Bates since the Fall of 2010.
