The new Dining Commons will be sited between Alumni Gym and Garcelon Field, bording Central Avenue.

To maintain architectural integrity, building materials for the 60,000 square-foot structure will include brick, granite, slate, copper and glass.

The vaulted Fireplace Lounge will provide a much-needed gathering space for students from early morning to late at night.

The Main Dining Area will provide an open and welcoming space for students to eat meals together.

The first floor layout shows distinctive features: the Fireplace Lounge, at upper left, where students enter; the extended-hours Market off the lobby at top; and the extensive servery, at center, reflecting the marketplace model of food service in the new Commons.

The second floor layout shows the Mezzanine Dining Area for 200 students overlooking the main dining area. Also seen are the several Meeting Rooms, including one, Room E, which will be more formally appointed than the other meeting rooms and will be reserved for significant meeting and dining needs of the College.
