Rich McNeil

2008: Started in all eight games for the Bobcats on the defensive line…. Led the team in quarterback sacks with 2.5…. Made 28 tackles on the season, including six in a loss against Williams on October 4…. Ranked fourth on the team in tackles for a loss with 5.0.
2007: Started all eight games at defensive tackle…. Totaled 24 tackles…. Had a season-high six tackles against Colby and Bowdoin in late October and early November, respectively.
Other Bates Activities: Also a member and captain of the Bates men’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams, McNeil finished eighth in the hammer throw at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, earning the second All-America honor of his career, with a top distance of 172 feet and 11 inches. It was the second career All-America award for McNeil, who won his first in 2008 by placing fifth in the hammer at outdoor nationals.
