Raluca Cernahoschi specializes in 19th through 21st-century German and East-Central European literatures and cultures.

Raluca Cernahoschi is Assistant Professor of German and co-organizer of the International Poetry Festival and Conference Translations 2011: Cross-Cultural Awareness through Poetry (https://axis.bates.edu/poetryfest/). Professor Cernahoschi’s courses and scholarship often pursue questions of (trans)national, ethnic, gender, and generational experience and identity and of the interplay between culture and politics. Her teaching interests include German literature and culture from the long 19th century to today, the literatures and cultures of East-Central Europe, poetry, drama, and film adaptation, and translation as intercultural communication.
