BatesSecure Setup – Windows XP
Windows XP Manual Setup Instructions

Click the Start button and select Control Panel

Double click on Network Connections
-
Right click on the “Wireless Network Connection” and select Properties.

Click on the Wireless Networks tab.

Select the “Bates (Automatic)” wireless connection if it’s listed and click the Remove button.

Click the Add button.

Enter the Following configuration information
- Network name (SSID): BatesSecure
- Click to select the “Connect even if this network is not broadcasting” check box.
- Network Authentication: WPA2
- Data Encryption: AES -
Click the Authentication tab.

Set the “EAP type:” to Protected EAP (PEAP)

Click the Properties button.

Clear the ”Validate server certificate” check box.

Click the Configure… button.

Bates Faculty and Staff: Make sure the check box IS checked for “When Connecting: Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)”
Bates Students: Make sure there is NO check mark for ”Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)”. -
Click OK.

Click OK.

Click OK

Click OK.

Click on the yellow pop up that will appear in the lower right corner of the screen asking to: “Click here to select a certificate or other credentials for connection to the network BatesSecure”

A window will appear asking to Enter Credentials.
Type in your Bates username, password and BCIS for the Logon domain.

Click Ok.
