Connect to the XSAN/DMC in the Mac Lab

While the ideal location to connect to XSAN is in the Edit Suites, you may also connect to XSAN from any Apple computer.

Here’s how:

1. In the finder window, select Go>Connect to Server

2. For server address type: afp://xsan-file-share

3. Click Connect.

4. Enter your Bates user name and password

5. Click Connect

You’ll now see a familiar space: The DMC volume of the Bates XSAN. Find your folder.

Important footnote: This connection is not designed for filesharing, not file editing. Opening and editing a Final Cut Pro or iMovie project over this connection may have unintendend and unfortunate results.
