Gmail Setup in Mac Mail
1. Open MacMail
2. Go to the File menu and down to Add Account
3. Enter your full name, your Bates email address (yourname@bates.edu) and your Bates network password. Click Continue
4. In the Incoming Mail Server window, enter the following information:
Account Type: IMAP
Description: Bates Gmail
Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
User Name: yourname@bates.edu
Password: Bates Network Password
Click Continue
5. In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter the following information:
Description: Bates Gmail
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
Make sure the box next to “Use only this server” is checked
Check the box next to “Use Authentication”
User Name: yourname@bates.edu
Password: Bates Network Password
Click Continue
6. Read Account Summary window for accuracy
7. Check the box next to “Take account online”
8. Click Create
