Graduating Seniors Check List 2013
As a graduating Senior, Information and Library Services would like to remind you of the following items that you should note and take care of before you leave campus.
Senior Email accounts will Expire on Sunday, June 30th, 2013.
Export/Save your Bates Gmail messages and Contacts to another email account. After June 30, 2013 you will no longer have access to them. The following link provides the steps on how to do so: http://www.bates.edu/ils/?p=6604
Setup your Vacation Responder to automatically notify individuals who are trying to contact you of your new email address – you don’t want to miss any messages, especially from potential employers. The following link provides you with the steps on how to setup your Vacation Responder: http://support.google.com/mail/answer/25922?hl=en
Setup Message Forwarding to automatically send any messages you receive at your Bates email address to another account. This way you don’t have to worry about logging into your Bates Gmail account to check email. To setup Message Forwarding, the following link provides you with the steps to do so: http://support.google.com/mail/answer/10957?hl=en. (Note: Once your account is deleted on July 1, 2013, messages sent to your Bates Gmail account will no longer forward to your other account.)
*Once your Bates Gmail account is deleted, individuals trying to contact you will receive a message that your account no longer exists.
**If you are staying beyond June 30th to work for a department on campus and need to have your account during this time, please have your supervisor email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the duration of your research project.
Please return all library materials before Commencement.
Be sure to empty your thesis locker. Notify staff when the locker is empty and we’ll take it off your account.
Please return any library materials you find while packing up, we may have billed you for replacement. We’d rather have the books than your money.
If you have any Events in your Google Calendar that you want to take with you, you will want to export those events. Details on how to export your Google Calendar can be found at: http://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37111
After June 30, 2013, your Google Docs and Files saved in your Google Drive account will be deleted. Resources on how to save your Docs and File so you can take them with you can be found at: http://www.dataliberation.org/takeout-products/google-docs
Save your Paris files to your computer, USB Memory Stick, or an external hard drive.
Bates Wireless/Bradford Persistent Agent
Uninstall the Bradford Persistent Agent from your computer. To remove Bradford from your computer, follow the steps at: http://www.bates.edu/ils/2012/how-do-i/network/bradford-removal-instructions/
Uninstall/Remove any network printers your may have installed, such as PERU-Ladd-Printers or PERU-Ladd-Printers-Color.
Sophos Anti-Virus is yours to keep and will continue to update after you leave Bates. If you remove Sophos Anti-Virus from your computer, reset your computer to factory settings, or purchase a new computer Sophos Anti-Virus will no longer be available to you.
