Brief Banner/Garnet Gateway Outage, Saturday, November 15th, 2014

Greetings Bates Community,
On Saturday, November 15th from 6:00 am – 8:00 am Information and Library Services will be applying upgrades to Banner.

The following services will be unavailable during this time.
- Garnet Gateway
- Banner
- Bates Document Management System
- Hyperion

Network Down Half-Day, Saturday, November 22nd, 6 am - 2 pm

Greetings,
On Saturday, November 22nd, from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, Information and Library Services will be conducting a Network Down Half-Day to perform maintenance on our back-end systems. During this time there will be no network services available including but not limited to….

- Web based access to E-Mail/Bates Gmail/Bates Google Calendar (mobile devices will still work).
- Garnet Gateway/Banner/Hyperion
- On-Campus Wired & Wireless Network Access
- Network File Storage & Printing
- Internet Browsing
- Library Journals/Databases
- Lyceum
- VPN/Proxy Connections
- Classroom Podiums and Presentation Spaces

New Academic Print Server

On Wednesday, October 21, 2014, Information and Library Services will replace the academic print server, Canton, with a new and improved server named Hudson.

Connecting to Hudson and setting up your printers is easy.

For Bates owned Macs, a new application called Self Service will make adding a network printer super simple.

Brief Hyperion Outage - Saturday, October 18, 2014 6am - 9am

Information and Library Services will be performing critical updates to Hyperion and reporting.bates.edu on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 6:00 am – 9:00 am. During this time Hyperion, DegreeWorks, SmartCall, and reporting.bates.edu will not be accessible. This does not affect Banner or Garnet Gateway.

Wireless Issues

Greetings Bates Community,
We are currently experiencing problems with the Bradford Persistent Agent on Macintosh computers connecting successfully to the internet. This appears to be isolated to Macintosh computers only; iOS, Android and Windows computers do not appear to be affected. Wired Bates lab computers are also unaffected.

We are working with our Networking team to resolve this as quickly as possible but this outage may extend until first thing Tuesday morning. When service is restored, we will communicate to the Bates community as soon as possible.

Printing and internet access is still available in the computer labs across campus, in Ladd, Pettengill 227 & 329, Hedge G18, Roger Williams 105 and Coram 110.
