Change at Popham Beach

The Bates College Geology Class Global Change (GEO 109) taught by Professor Bev Johnson, recorded the location of the swash line at Popham Beach State Park on September 18, 19, and 20, 2007 as part of a laboratory exercise. The findings were further explored, and then presented, in poster form, by Keegan Runnals (’11) at a national meeting in the spring of 2009.

The Imaging and Computing Center provided Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support for the entire project, with an in-class presentation of the results included. The BCICC provided desktop publishing support for the poster presentation and Matt Duvall was an author on the poster.
