Joining the BCIS workgroup allows access to network printing and network file storage (PARIS).
In Windows XP Home and Professional you can view your start menu in two different ways:
A. In Classic view:

In Windows XP Home and Professional you can view your start menu in two different ways:
A. In Classic view:
- Click on Start
- Click on Settings
- Click on Control Panel
- Double click on the System icon

B. In XP Default view:
- Click on Start
- Click on Control Panel
- In Category View, click on Performance and Maintenance
- Under pick a control panel, click on the System icon

In the C. System Properties window:
- Click on the Computer Name tab on the top
- Computer description: Bates User ID
- Click on the Change button, next to where it says To rename this computer ot join a domain, click change

In the D. Computer Name Changes window:
- Select Workgroup under the Member of section select Workgroup,
- Enter BCIS and click on OK
- Click OK on the pop up Welcome Message
- Click OK on the System Properties window
