Funding for Bates learning associates in the humanities and social sciences is the result of a generous endowment from The Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation.  The Bates Learning Associates Program allows academic programs at Bates to reach out to scholars, experts and practitioners who can augment student intellectual growth and provide a real-world context for ideas and learning.  This extra stimulus is invaluable for students proceeding toward a capstone experience or senior thesis.
