Learning Commons

The Learning Commons at Bates promotes and supports a College community that, while diverse in its creative and scholarly endeavors, holds in common a love of learning.

The Learning Commons provides a place for collaborative learning—students, faculty, and professional staff learning from peers and colleagues and from each other—both in the physical space of the Commons and through its programming, which fosters an ongoing campus dialogue about ways of thinking, communicating, learning, and teaching.
