Standing in line in the wee hours on Black Friday?  Feeling like you should be doing something else?  EBSCOhost mobile app can ease some of that guilt.

Use your internet-connected smartphone or tablet to search for and retrieve source content from the more than 50 EBSCO databases.  Staying in touch with ACS, PsychInfo and the rest of the EBSCO family has never been so easy.  Even while waiting in the cold at 4 AM for one of three doorbuster flatscreens!

The most important features provided from the EBSCOhost have been incorporated to provide convenient access to these resources when you are away from the Bates network.

Downloading and authorizing the EBSCOhost mobile app:

  1. Navigate to any of the EBSCO databases available to you through the Bates College library.  For example, you might navigate to the PsycINFO database.
  1. At the bottom of the PsycINFO search page, select the link titled “EBSCOhost iPhone and Android Applications”.

You will see a popup dialog box that looks like this:

Enter your Bates email address and select “Send”.

  1. You will receive an email message describing how to download the appropriate version of the app (i.e. iOS or Android) and how to authenticate the app once installed.
Follow the instructions in the email for downloading and authenticating the appropriate (i.e. iOS or Android OS) App.

Note that because the application is authenticated via a link in the confirmation email, you should read the email from the mobile device containing the app.

Also note that App authentication must be performed every 9 months.
