Classic Rock

My family went on plenty of long family car-rides when I was younger, and as a result, I received a strong education, or perhaps indoctrination is a better word, in the school of Classic Rock. My Dad had managed, with the help of my more tech-savvy older brother, to convert many of his old cassette mix-tapes into CD format, and as a result, our frequent trips to Philly and New York were always accompanied by a soundtrack filled with Springsteen, Petty, Cat Stevens, and Van Morrison, among others.  My love for these singers goes beyond nostalgia. The combination of beautiful emotive lyrics and foot-tapping beats are, in my opinion, unfortunately unmatched among modern day musicians. These characteristics of the songs of classic rock make them perfect for both casual listening and crazy, impromptu dance parties. I like my music to move me both physically and mentally. There’s a reason why I’m such a big fan of 70’s and 80’s classic rock.
