2006-2007: Indoor Season: As Co-Captain won two events in the first meet of the season-the shot put and weight throw…placed second in both shot put and weight throw at the Tufts Invitational, and then the week after won both again at the USM invitational…with two first-place finishes at the State Championship meet, Gauthier won the Peter Goodrich Most Valuable Field Athlete Award for the second year in a row…won weight throw at New Englands and then placed third at ECACs with a throw of 57 feet 9.75 inches and eighth place in the shot put with 47 feet, 11.75 inches…at the NCAA Championship he took eighth place in the 35-pound weight throw earning All-American honors, and with his brother, Dustin Gauthier ’05, became Bates’ first All-America brother tandem. Outdoor Season: won first place in the hammer throw (168-02) against Colby…Placed second in discus and shot put on top of winning the hammer throw and qualifying provisionally for NCAAs on April 14th…won three events — the discus throw (145-00), the hammer throw (177-02) and the shot put (48-08.00) to take home the Frederick D. Tootel Memorial Field Athlete of the Meet Award at the State Championship meet…won hammer and shot put and placed fifth in the discus at NESCACs…at New Englands Gauthier won the hammer, was fourth in the discus and second in the shot put, scoring a total of 23 points…at Open New Englands he won the hammer throw and placed eighth in shot put earning 11 of the team’s 13 points…will be competing at Nationals the 24th of May.

2005-2006: Indoor Season: Participated in both the 35-lb. weight throw and shot put…  Was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championships in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 58 feet, 4 inches on March 3rd at the Trinity Last Chance Meet…  Named Outstanding Field Performer at the State of Maine Championships on Feb. 4th  at USM, winning both the weight throw and shot put that day; that meet marked the third straight competition in which Gauthier won both events…At New England Division III Championships on February 18th, placed 5th in the shot put (49-7) and 4th in the 35-pound weight throw (56-8).  Outdoor Season: At the Bowdoin Invite on April 18th, threw a season personal record in the hammer throw (54.44 m)…At State of Maine Championships on April 22nd, won the discus throw (44.49 m), a season personal record; received the Frederick Tootell Award for the most outstanding field athlete…At NESCAC Championships at Bowdoin on April 29th, achieved two All-NESCAC honors, placing 2nd in the shot put (49-2.5) and 3rd in the hammer throw (175-08); also placed 7th in the discus (136-5)…Competed in the shot put at New England Division III Championships on May 6th, achieving a season personal record (51-11.75), placing 4th; also placed 9th in the discus (135-9)…Finished 7th in the shot put at Open New Englands on May 13th (49-10)…Competed in the shot put at ECACs on May 19th, placing 5th (49-11.25); also placed 7th in the hammer throw (172-4)…
