2007-2008:  


Indoor Track: Runner-up in the 35-pound weight throw (56’10.00″) and placed fifth in the shot put (14.43 meters) at New Englands…. Placed 17th in the shot put at Open New Englands (45’10.00″). 


Outdoor Track: Finished fifth in the men’s hammer throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the only underclassman to qualify for the finals, with a top preliminary round throw of 173-3, which ranked seventh….. In the finals, after two competitors had passed him in earlier throws, McNeil’s penultimate throw traveled 180-9, moving him into fifth place, which he held….The fifth-place finish earned him the first All-American honors of his career…. McNeil is the 26th man in Bates history to win All-American honors in outdoor track and field, and the 12th to do so in the hammer throw…. Finished seventh in the shot put (48-03.25) a day after winning the hammer throw title at ECACs…. Placed fifth in the shot put (50-10.25) and seventh in the discus throw (145-06) at the Open New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships…. At New Englands, took fourth place in the discus throw (141-07) and fifth (46-09.50) in the shot put.


2006-2007:


Outdoor Track: Competed as one of only three freshmen in the discus throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing 14th…. Throwing in considerably bad weather, including rain and wind up to 40 mph, McNeil (Lawrence, Mass.) had a top throw of 141 feet and 3 inches, the same as 13th-place and fellow first-year Adrian Kibiersza of Aurora University out of a field of 17…. McNeil was named NESCAC Most Outstanding Rookie Performer, after placing second in the hammer throw, third in the discus throw and fourth in the shot put at the NESCAC Track and Field Championships at Middlebury College.
