She plays roller hockey in a coed league, goes mountain biking and skiboarding, and went skydiving in July!… In 1995-96, Melissa Prodis was a volunteer in the eastern rainforest region of Guatemala. An education promoter for rural villages, she helped teachers make classrooms more interesting for kids and raised money for supplies. Back in Connecticut, Melissa took a course in home-birth practice and taught at a preschool. Last February she returned to Guatemala, apprenticed with some traditional birth attendants. Now she is back home in Guilford, Conn., committed to three years of grad school in nursing…. She and a business partner have distributed their first title on breast cancer, with a second in production on the legendary cabaret singers of New York City.
