Chris Merritt and his wife, Nicole, honeymooned in Africa (Kenya and Zanzibar), before returning to New Orleans, where they’re both in medical school at Tulane. “What New Orleans lacks in mountains and snow, it more than makes up for in music and food.”… Caucus director for Maine State Democrats, Barbara Raths worked for long hours on the Gore campaign and was ready for a change of pace after the election…. Chris Tiné was set to attend the famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August for his third consecutive year, and was scheduled to produce and collaborate on The Errollyn Wallen Co.’s “genre-defying” production Jordan Town, a music/dance/film collaboration, a show he hopes to tour in the United States. In September, Tiné will travel to Hong Kong at the invitation of the Chinese government and the London-based charity The English-Speaking Union. There, he will set up an urban debating league and select and coach a Hong Kong team to attend the World Schools Debating Championships in February 2001. When not traveling, Tiné lives in Brookline, Mass., with writer Jessica Anthony and music producer/engineer Jonathan Wyman ’97…. “You think it’s cold in Maine,” says Katie Vaux. She is in Goose Bay, Labrador, making radio documentaries for CBC, repairing ski-doos and racing sled dogs…. Beth Whitten Anderson reports: “Joe is finishing his pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, and I have completed Yale’s teacher prep program. I plan to teach art at the secondary level but am going to take some time off and spend it with our new baby, Cameron.”
