New Endowments

The following donors have generously established new endowed funds at Bates to meet the specific needs of the College.

Susan Majeski McKnight ’70 Fund for Environmental Science
Given by the family and friends of Susan Majeski McKnight ’70 in her memory. For support of the environmental science program at Bates.

Hayes-Kinsel Scholarship Fund
Given by Sara and Arthur Hayes for support of scholarship assistance for Bates students.

Ernest P. Muller Scholarship Fund
Given by Jonathan A. Zanger ’79 in honor of Professor Emeritus of History Ernest P. Muller. For support of scholarship assistance with preference for students majoring in history.

Benjamin Mays Distinguished Visiting Professorship
Given by James F. Orr and Ann L. Orr.

Myhrman/Swett Award
Given by Richard Swett in honor of his mother, Muriel Beckman Swett ’30 and his aunt, Mildred Beckman Myhrman ’30. For support of a graduating senior whose senior thesis in sociology has been deemed most outstanding by the Department of Sociology.
