The Class of 1997 Scholarship Fund, created through the Senior Gift, awarded grants to three students in 2003-04. Deanna Ouellette is the daughter of Dot Ouellette of Facility Services and is a sophomore at the University of New England, studying dental hygiene. Amber Deschene, the daughter of John Deschene of Facility Services, is a sophomore at Salem State studying to become a registered nurse. Cory Culleton, the son of Vivian Culleton of Facility Services, studies at Central Maine Community College and has taken courses in building construction technology…. Heidi McDonald Leveille works as a regional, home-based clinical research associate for GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals. She’s in her second year in a master’s program in health sciences. She and her husband, Brandon, live in Cambridge, Mass…. Jerri Nims graduated from Georgia State College of Law in 2003 and passed the Georgia bar in July. She received the most outstanding graduate award, presented by the National Assn. of Women Lawyers for academic excellence, tenacity, and significant efforts for women’s issues. While a student, Jerri received Excellence for the Future awards for the top grade in three courses as well as being awarded graduate research assistantships for both the College of Law and College of Business. She practices corporate/international corporate law in Atlanta…. Rana Ozbal is completing a doctoral program in anthropology at Northwestern. Sarah Standiford is the executive director of the Maine Women’s Lobby and the Maine Women’s Policy Center. She previously worked for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and the Maine People’s Alliance.
