Benjamin Weiss
Professor Weiss specializes in number theory, arithmetic dynamics, probability, and geometry.
Ben Weiss joined the Bates Mathematics Department in 2012 after graduating from the University of Michigan in 2011 and a 1 year post doc at the Technion. His research interests are primarily in number theory, but include arithmetic dynamics, probability, and geometry. His recent papers and thesis are on random polynomials, Galois theory, rational points on curves, the Pell equation, and arithmetic dynamics. He is an avid game player, and in particular a successful bridge player having won a flight C national championship.
