Some landmark dates from before you start at Bates, through your senior year.
Before You Start at Bates
- Take our online placement exam to help decide which math class to take first
First Year
- Short Term: the ideal time for Math Camp
Sophomore Year
- March 1: have your major declared and major advisor selected
- Short Term: the next-most-ideal time for Math Camp
Junior Year
- If you are going abroad, stay in touch with your major advisor
- Last day of Winter Semester classes: your proposal for thesis or seminar is due
Senior Year
- Write your thesis or take your senior seminar
