Often referred to affectionately by students as "The House," the Multicultural Center has a resource room that contains a library with books, magazines, journals, newspapers, and computer facilities. There are two lounges (each with TV/VCR entertainment systems and cable), a fully equipped kitchen that can be used at any time, and study areas. The gallery space hosts art exhibits and a growing collection of crafts and arts. The lounges are comfortable and quiet work spaces. Various lounges and the kitchen can be blue-slipped in advance through the director of multicultural affairs for classes, private screenings, meetings, dinners, or parties. The Center also contains six offices for student organizations.

In recognition of the diversity of faith traditions within the College and in American society in general, in 1998 the Multicultural Center instituted two areas dedicated to the Buddhist and Muslim faith. The Muslim Prayer Room is located on the first floor of the Center and contains a prayer rug suitable for community prayers in addition to items of religious significance to adherents of Islam.

A Buddhist shrine, located on the second floor of the Center, was installed by those sharing the faith from Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the United States. Containing representations of the Buddha and an altar with appropriate symbols of worship, the shrine is maintained by several student volunteers. Both the prayer room and the shrine require the same modes of respect given to other areas of worship on campus.

The Jewish Cultural Community observes Shabbat in the Multicultural Center each Friday during the academic year.

The Hindu festival of Diwali is celebrated in the Center in the fall.
