Latest NewsCook Named USILA Honorable Mention All-America 6/1/2004 LEWISTON, Maine – Bates College sophomore Averill Cook was selected as an honorable mention All-America by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association on Tuesday afternoon. Cook '06 (Williamstown, Mass.) was the leading defenseman for the Bobcats this season, earning First-Team All-NESCAC and Second-Team All-New England honors. He is just the second Bates player to ever earn All-America honors, joining Patrick Gaughan '02, who was an honorable mention selection at midfield in 2002. Bates finished the 2004 season 2-9, 1-8 NESCAC. The Bobcats suffered five one-goal losses and one loss by two goals, playing right with several of the nation’s top-ranked teams. |
