Latest NewsMen's Soccer Team Honored for Academic Success 12/10/ 2003 LEWISTON, Maine – The Bates College men's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Team Academic Award for the 2002-03 academic year earlier this fall. In order to be eligible, players on teams need an average cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better following the spring 2003 semester. Bates was one of 72 institutions to earn the award, joining Colby and Connecticut College as NESCAC representatives. Bates finished the 2003 season 5-8-1, and head coach George Purgavie earned his first win over Middlebury in his 21-year career. |
