Robin Starr ’85, Director of the Department of American and European Paintings and Prints at Skinner, Inc., comes back to Bates to discuss her career in the arts.

Before rising to her present position, Starr held several positions in her department.  She began in 1987 as a Department Assistant, then moved into a position as a Specialist in 1999.  Eight years later, she rose to Senior Specialist, a position she held for two years.

Prior to working at Skinner, Starr taught art history at Boston College and Massachusetts College of Art.  She earned her MA in Art History form Williams College, and worked as a lab intern in the painting department of the Williamstown Regional Art Conservation Lab.  Starr also worked as a student archeologist at the Abbey of Psalmodi in St. Laurent D’Aigouze, France.  She is a frequent contributor to Country Living Magazine’s “What Is It? What Is It Worth?” column.

This lecture is free to the public.

The Alumni in the Arts series is co-sponsored by the Department of Art and Visual Culture.
