Robert Dan, violist, and Daniel Epstein, pianist: Performing music by Dvorak, Clara Schumann, Scriabin and Richard Strauss, Dan, who is Bates’ applied music instructor in viola, joins forces with Epstein of the Manhattan School of Music faculty.

Conducted by Hiroya Miura of the Bates faculty, the orchestra performs a program featuring Czech composers Dvorak (Symphony No. 8) and Smetana (“The Moldau”). In addition, flutist Becky Schwartz ’16, concerto competition winner, plays a concerto by Carl Reinecke.
