Larry Williams is a performer, public school teacher and band leader. He received both his B.S. In Music Education and M.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern Maine. He has twenty-six years of teaching experience in public and private schools directing concert band, jazz band, steel band and show band. He performs with The Portland Jazz Orchestra (Portland, Maine) where he plays baritone sax, and he leads his own nine-piece show and dance band. A part of Larry’s graduate studies was focused on performing modern big band repertoire and solo transcriptions of Dexter Gordon, and Hank Mobley. Larry’s playing is featured on The Portland Jazz Orchestra CD Nor’easter and on The Terry White Big Band CD This Note’s For You.
