As a jazz pianist and organist, Michael regularly works with some of the preeminent musicians in northern New England. He has performed at venues including Portland’s Merrill Auditorium, the State Theatre, and Port City Music Hall. As a bandleader and composer, his ensembles include Bedlam & Eunoia and MBG.
Michael graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Piano Performance (Jazz Concentration), from the University of Southern Maine. He studied with many acclaimed musicians including Thomas Snow, Laura Kargul, Ben Waltzer, and Vardan Ovsepian. Michael teaches at his Portland studio in addition to Bates.
