Thesis

As the capstone research experience to your undergraduate career, the senior thesis allows you to focus on one area within neuroscience to explore in depth. Building on the classroom and laboratory skills that you have amassed in previous foundational classes, your thesis project is a time of focused research inquiry during which you will contribute unique knowledge to the discipline. Under the mentorship of your thesis adviser, you will identify an area of study, pose testable hypotheses, design an experiment or set of studies, learn new methodologies, execute all aspects of the study, gather, analyze, and write about the results, and share your findings with a broader audience in public venues. Neuroscience theses may be either one- or two-semesters completed during the senior year. The information in the links below will help you navigate the thesis process, and we recommend that you read this information thoroughly.
