Bates College will celebrate "Back to Bates" homecoming Sept. 19 - Sunday, Sept. 21 with many on-campus events for students, alumni and Bates employees.

Pianists to note 100th anniversary of Brahms' death

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the death of composer Johnanes Brahms, pianists Frank Glazer and Duncan Cumming '93 will perform the composer's complete works for solo piano in a series of concerts at Bates College Sept. 14 at 3 p.m.; Oct. 5 at 3 p.m.; Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall, 75 Russell St. The public is invited to attend the performances free of charge.

Noonday concerts to resume

The Bates College Noonday Concert Series, featuring weekly performances by Bates faculty and students, resumes on Sept. 9 with a program of Hadyn songs performed by tenor John Corrie and fortepianist James Parakilas.

Bates to stage premiere of holocaust diary

A one-woman play based on the writings of Etty Hillesum, a young woman who lived in Holland during the Nazi occupation, will premiere at Bates College in Gannett Theater at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11; Friday, Sept. 12; Saturday, Sept. 13; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept.14.
