Neil Simon's "The Good Doctor" to be performed

Neil Simon’s play The Good Doctor will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, in the Gannett Theater, 305 College St. Tickets are $6 and $3 for students and seniors.

The play, by one of America’s most acclaimed comic playwrights, is based on the works of Anton Chekov. Its central themes are creation and control, according to director Kevin Jackson, a Bates senior from Woodbury, N.J.

The play has a student cast starring senior John Payne of Watch Hill, R.I.; juniors Zachary Gill of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and Jozef Amado of Adana, Turkey; sophomore Ayisha Wales of Evanston, Ill.; and first-year student Sandra Rubin of Miami, Fla. For ticket information, call 207-786-6161.
