Scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, in Alumni Gymnasium, Cone’s address is part of a celebration of King’s life and work that includes performances, workshops and a debate between Bates and Morehouse College. All events are open to the public free of charge.

Barry Dean, will perform an original piece commissioned for the MLK Jr. observation. A resident of Lewiston, Dean comes from Chicago and attended the University of Southern Maine.
