The dance “Santo” was performed during the Bates Modern Dance Company reunion tribute to the late Leonard Plavin, who photographed Bates modern dancers during the 42 years that his wife, Marcy Plavin, directed the College’s dance program.

“Santo,” with music composed and performed by George MacDonald ’10, was choreographed by Erin Gottwald ’98 in collaboration with Laura Iverson Beare ’01 and Sachi Feris ’99, and performed by Gottwald and Beare. The April 30 concert was directed by Marcy Plavin, with lighting design by Michael Giannitti ’84.
