Summer Newsletter 2011: Mathematics

Geometric solids

Greetings from the Department of Mathematics. If you’re taking your first math course with us, we have some suggestions. For those planning to take calculus, try our online self-placement exam to decide if you should start in Calculus I, II or above.

Looking for a course to satisfy the Bates [Q] (quantitative) requirement? You might try MATH 101, Working with Data, or MATH 102, Mathematics across the Sciences. There are also many [Q] courses in other departments.

If you have additional placement questions, our Assistant in Instruction Eric Towne specializes in helping students select the appropriate course levels. For questions about any courses or the math major or minor, please contact our department chair, Meredith Greer.
