Musical weekend includes piano quartet, ‘bhangra’-brass hybrid Red Baraat

Red Baraat brings ‘bhangra’ and brass to the Olin Concert Hall stage.

Demonstrating the bold diversity of music that graces the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall at Bates College, one September weekend features two very different performances.

An evening of chamber music featuring Maine musicians and music by Mozart, Faure and Dvorak takes place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.

At the same time the following evening, the world-music band Red Baraat performs. The Olin Arts Center is located at 75 Russell St.

Admission for Saturday’s event is free, but tickets are required and can be requested by emailing olinarts@bates.edu.

Admission to Red Baraat is $15 / $10, available at batestickets.com. Free tickets are available for the first 100 seniors or students. To reserve, please email olinarts@bates.com.
