Randal Maurice Jelks, biographer of civil rights icon Dr. Benjamin Mays ’20, is among the influential thinkers presented at Bates by the Office of Intercultural Education.

The Office of Intercultural Education focuses on the mission of fostering dialogue and building bridges across difference.

The OIE staff works directly with underrepresented student populations to ensure equity and access to all college resources, as well as to ensure social and academic success.

Megan Taft continues as acting director and Benjamin Hughes ’12 has been hired as the program and office coordinator.
