Livestream: President Spencer interviews Thomas Goetz ’90

Thomas Goetz ’90 is back on campus to speak to the Class of 2018 in a “Conversation with Clayton” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, in the Gomes Chapel.

Goetz’s best-selling book, The Remedy: Robert Koch, Arthur Conan Doyle and the Quest to Cure Tuberculosis, was the Common Read for the first-year class.

He’ll be talking with President Clayton Spencer, who will ask him, among other questions, about his Bates experience, his book, and if he sees parallels in today’s scientific mysteries and questions, whether in the Ebola outbreak or climate change, and what, if anything, in today’s society is impeding innovation and discovery.

Bates will have this video available for replay shortly after the live presentation.
