Bates faculty member Kati Vecsey helps give voice to a fellow Hungarian’s right-to-die case

Dániel Karsai, a Hungarian human rights lawyer, has ALS and wants the right to die with dignity. Vecsey, a Bates faculty member and voice expert, is helping him voice his case before the European Court for Human Rights, Nov. 27–28.

Last night was a sweet treat. The kids had an absolute blast and we think the trick-or-treaters had fun too. Thanks to the @batesharward Center, the City of Lewiston (@officiallewistonme), and The American Red Cross for helping us host such a special event for our community. We could see on our students' faces how healing it was to help bring some joy to our beloved city and home. President Garry W. Jenkins and his husband Jon Lee also joined in on the fun helping Bates students hand out the many pieces of candy made available at the event. We also want to thank all the families for coming out and sharing your Halloween with us.
