Trio Parole to perform at Bates

The 2001-02 Bates College Concert Series continues with a pair of performances by Trio Parole of the complete Mozart piano trios in two separate programs Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall.

Contemporary guitarist Claudio Calmens to perform

Claudio Calmens, a contemporary guitarist from Argentina, will perform a program of modern works at 8 p.m Friday, Feb. 9, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall of Bates College. The concert is free and open to the public.

Victoria Wyeth to discuss Andrew Wyeth exhibit

Victoria Wyeth, granddaughter of famed painter Andrew Wyeth and guest curator of the “Andrew Wyeth: Her Room” exhibit at Bates College, will discuss his work and the exhibit at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 and 20, and Sunday, Jan. 14 and 21, in the Bates College Museum of Art, Olin Arts Center.

Bates celebrates millennium with concert

The Bates College Orchestra, led by William Matthews, the Alice Swanson Esty Professor of Music, will be joined by computer music composer Eric Chasalow, Bates class of 1977, in a concert featuring works commissioned by the college as part of its millennial celebration at 9 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Clarinetist Richard Stoltzman to perform at Bates April 2

Performing a program of American composers, including works by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein, clarinetist Richard Stoltzman will give the final performance of the 1999-2000 Bates College Concert series at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. Senior Exhibition opens at Bates Museum of Art

Thirteen Bates College seniors will show their work in the annual Senior Exhibition, on view April 7 through May 28 at the Bates College Museum of Art. The exhibition opens with a reception at 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, in the Bates Museum of Art. Also on view will be “Inner Perspectives,” curated by Bates Museum of Art intern Lana Vogestad and featuring artists from the Peregrine Press. The public is invited to attend, and admission is free for the reception and both exhibitions.
