Modern Dance Company to premiere work by NYC choreographer Kyle

A new work by choreographer Peter Kyle, formerly of the Mark Morris Dance Group, will be featured in performances by the Bates College Modern Dance Company at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and noon Sunday, Sept. 30, in the college’s Schaeffer Theatre, 305 College St.

Wilder's comedy 'Skin of Our Teeth' coming to Schaeffer stage

The major autumn production of the Bates College theater department is Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Skin of Our Teeth, a groundbreaking comedy about the resilience of the human spirit in troubled times. Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3, 4, 10 and 11, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 and 12, in Schaeffer Theatre, 305 College St.

Bates theater department offers 'House of Blue Leaves'

Often viewed as playwright John Guare’s most popular and important work, “The House of Blue Leaves” is the major fall theater production of the Bates College theater department. Directed by Professor of Theater Paul Kuritz, “Blue Leaves” will be performed at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 5-6 and 12-13, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays, Nov. 7 and 14.

'Brave New World' takes the stage

Modern Dance Company performs eclectic series

The Bates College Modern Dance Company in Concert will showcase the performance and choreography talents of student, faculty and alumni artists during Parents and Families Weekend at Bates Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7:45 p.m. in the Schaeffer Theater. The public is invited to attend free of charge with no reservations accepted.
