Ted Kennedy, many news outlets, including ABC News and The Boston Globe, turned to Boston University social scientist Tom Whalen ’86, an expert on Massachusetts politics and presidential leadership whose books include Kennedy Versus Lodge, about the 1952 Senate race in Massachusetts in which John F.
