Noonday Concert Series for February

The Bates Noonday Concert Series continues its season throughout February. The free concerts, open to the public, are held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall.

Urban missionary to deliver Andrews lecture

An ordained Pentecostal minister, former gang member, Harvard graduate and urban missionary will deliver the annual Bertha May Bell Andrews Memorial Lecture at Bates at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5 in the Benjamin Mays Center. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Playwright to dicuss theater and AIDS

Sandra Deer of the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta will discuss her conception of the relationship of the theater arts to issues of public policy and how she wrote the play, “Let’s Talk About AIDS,” at Bates College on Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Muskie Archives. Bates' 77th annual college winter carnival

The Roaring Twenties” has been selected as the theme for the 77th annual Bates College Winter Carnival, which begins Thursday (1/18) with a ceremonial torch-lighting at the Statehouse in Augusta and a relay to the campus by student runners.
