Bates College celebrates Black History Month with a series of events, including an African Diaspora Film Series, scheduled throughout the month of February and the first week of March.

'Narrative Quilts' opens at Bates Museum of Art

Artist Michael Cummings will discuss his "Narrative Quilts" exhibit at the Bates College Museum of Art at 7 p.m. on Jan. 9 in Room 104 of the Olin Arts Center, 75 Russell St. A reception for the artist, cosponsored by the African-American Studies Program at Bates, will immediately follow in the Museum of Art. The public is invited and admission is free.

Bates Students to Discuss African-American Protest in Maine
