				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Alice Brown-Collins of the Black Campus Ministry in Boston will discuss ethnicity, gender and faith in separate talks in the annual Staley Distinguished Christian Scholars Lecture series at Bates. Brown-Collins will discuss <em>Ethnicity and Faith</em> at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5  followed by a talk on <em>Gender and Grace</em> at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. Both lectures will take place on the second floor of Chase Hall, 56 Campus Ave. The public is invited to attend free of charge.</p>
<p><span id="more-21859"></span>Brown-Collins earned her doctorate in social psychology from the University of Colorado. Through the Black Ministry, she seeks to develop black Christian leaders and work toward authentic racial reconciliation within the wider Christian community.</p>
<p>Ordained as an evangelist with the Church of God in Christ, Brown-Collins has been active in many positions within her denomination, especially areas focused on marriage and family life. Prior to joining the Black Campus Ministry in 1994, she taught African and Afro-American studies at Brandeis, Wellesley, Brown and the University of Rhode Island.</p>
