Bates sophomore catcher Gordy Webb (Hampden, Maine) batted .611 (11-for-18) with a .632 on-base percentage and a 1.111 slugging mark while not committing an error behind the plate during the Bobcats' 3-2 week last week.

Bates College senior Stacia Saniuk (Sharon, Mass.) batted .778 (7-for-9) and posted a 1.444 slugging percentage along with a .867 on-base percentage during a 3-1 week for the Bobcat softball team. She hit two home runs, recorded six walks, had four RBI and four runs scored.

Liz Thompson finished her remarkable collegiate skiing career with a flourish last week at the NCAA Skiing Championships, hosted by Bates. Thompson, the first Bates women's alpine skier to qualify for NCAAs in all four of her years, had career-best NCAA finishes in both the giant slalom and the slalom, helping to propel Bates to an outstanding team showing of 13th place overall.

Bates junior Vantiel Elizabeth Duncan continued to prove that she is one of the top throwers in New England at any division level, as well as one of the top throwers in all of Division III last weekend at the Open New England Indoor Championships at Boston University.

Bates senior Chris Berry (Augusta, Maine) finished his exceptional collegiate swimming career with the best weekend of his life last weekend at the NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. Berry broke or had a hand in breaking an astounding total of seven Bates event records at the meet, while the Bobcats set 13 new event records as a team.

Entering last weekend's NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Bates senior Kelsey Lamdin (Brunswick, Maine) already had six All-America honors, five All-NESCAC awards and three Bates diving records to her credit. What she didn't have yet was a conference title, and she rectified that in a big way.
