Gomes, named one of America’s most influential preachers by Time magazine, opens the 151st academic year at Bates College with a convocation address at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, on the main quadrangle. In case of rain, the event will take place in Alumni Gymnasium.
